On May 09, the SCS Fishing team traveled to Backus Mill outside of Port Rowan to compete in the first ever Valley Heights Highschool Fishing Invitational. SCS students competed against all of the local highschools to catch a variety of fish and in some environmental education programs. Our students demonstrated great skill, sportsmanship and environmental stewardship. Matt Mago beat all other students in Norfolk county (catching over 10 trout) to win the top angler award. When combined with the catches of our other anglers, the SCS team took the overall top school award. Special thanks goes to Terri Groh from Valley Heights for organizing the event and the Long Point Fish and Game Club who provided the volunteers who officiated the competition and cleaned and cooked fish for the students.
