A group of our Grade 11 College Math students to Mohawk College on Tuesday for Math workshops and a tour of the campus. We began with a lecture on programs and careers involving math. Then we had the opportunity to do some design work with a program called TinkerCad, and learn some coding with a device called a Raspberry Pi (a mini computer). Finally we all donned Virtual Reality goggles and were shown how virtual reality can bring lessons in college to life. An example of this was parts of the body in anatomy become 3D and can be explored in detail…we were shown the brain and the heart! We ended our day with a guided tour of the campus to see the modern facilities that Mohawk College has to offer. So proud of how our awesome students represented SCS!!
