Peace Medal Winner

ISA 2025
YMCA Peace Medal

The PJ Indigenous Students’ Association is proud to announce that our Truth and Reconciliation work has been recognized with a YMCA Peace Medal.

The YMCA believes peace is more than the absence of violence and conflict. The peace medal is awarded to individuals and groups who have dedicated their time to “building and rebuilding conditions of fairness, inclusion, empathy, security, and respect for diversity”, and the judges felt our collaborative, volunteer-driven work “uplifts Indigenous voices and fosters cultural sharing, advocacy, and community connection” as well as “builds sustainable change, strengthens relationships, and creates a welcoming space for all students to learn, lead and grow together in the spirit of reconciliation.”

Congratulations to the ISA for this special recognition of their collaborative efforts and thanks to all who have helped with events and who continue working toward reconciliation efforts.
