The following international language classes are being offered via the online format in the 2020-2021 school year. Once teachers are available for these courses, students will be contacted by the assigned teacher.
PLEASE NOTE: Currently only Punjabi and Mandarin language instruction is taking place.
Punjabi Secondary Credit Class
Students will earn a secondary school credit equal to a school grade 10, 11 or 12.
(Saturday mornings - 3 hours)
Open to grades 1 to grade 8 elementary students currently registered in a public-funded or private school
(Monday evenings - 2.5 hours).
Please note that this language is currently not being taught but if you have a child who is interested, please send in an Elementary Registration form below.
Open to grades 1 to 8 elementary students currently registered in a public-funded or private school
(Saturday mornings - 2.5 hours)
Offers children the opportunity to develop and/or maintain the ability to speak, listen, read and write a new language, or in the language of their heritage.
Enhances students’ connection with their heritage.
Improves communication skills in their language of choice.
Strengthens cognitive development through the knowledge of an additional language.
Provides opportunities to learn and experience another culture.
Languages offered: Arabic, Polish, Punjabi, Mandarin.
Elementary language program for students attending school, from grades 1 to 8 in September 2020 using the online format. Note: Kindergarten students will not be offered classes until in-person learning resumes.
Credit Classes for those entering grade 9 to 12 in September 2020.
Students with all levels of language proficiency are welcome.
Students need to be committed to learning and improving their skills. Good attitude, behaviour and consistent engagement are expected of every student.
