Trustee Greg Anderson Acclaimed as Grand Erie District School Board Chair for the 2019-20 School Year
For the second year in a row, Trustee Greg Anderson was acclaimed as Board Chair at Grand Erie District School Board’s Nomination Meeting on Monday night. Anderson, a City of Brantford Trustee, will serve as Grand Erie’s Chair of the Board for the third-straight year.
“I’m honoured that my Trustee colleagues have once again supported my leadership,” said Anderson. “Over the past two years, we have much to be proud of as we’ve remained focused on our Multi-Year Plan and our goal of Success for Every Student. As we continue to move ahead, I look forward to once again working with my colleagues and representing the Board in all of our communities across the system.”
Anderson, in his second term as a Trustee, was first elected during the 2014 Municipal election. Prior to running for office, Anderson had a dedicated career in education as a teacher, vice-principal and principal. He was a Superintendent of Education at Grand Erie for more than a decade before he retired in 2013. In 2016-17, Anderson was Vice-Chair of the Board before moving to Board Chair in 2017-18 and 2018-19.
Trustee Rita Collver, who was Committee of the Whole Chair this past year, was acclaimed as Vice-Chair of the Board for 2019-20. Collver represents Norfolk County (Wards 3 and 7) as well as Brant County.
