On October 4, 2016, Simcoe Composite School participated in the 176th Young Canada Day at the Norfolk County Fair and Horse Show where all Norfolk county schools faced off in the high school challenge.
Simcoe Composite secured a very close second place finish overall with some outstanding performances throughout the morning.
In the category of the girls' tug of war team, the school lost a tough battle with Delhi District Secondary School to take home the second place finish. The school's guys’ team also put in a great effort.
The SCS road race team finished second overall and our special effects placed third.
The Sabres cheerleading team brought home the championship and the school's Cheer Stars put on a phenomenal performance to steal the hearts of every person watching.
The icing on the cake was the inspiring musical performance by Eric Harris. Eric played the fiddle for the crowd and and the crowd praised him for offering his talents and abiltiy with the stand.
"It was a proud day to be a Sabre and the school will be back next year to set their sights on first place," said Allison High, SCS Principal.
