North Ward School’s students have a very special reason to be looking forward to spring.
This past November, the Paris community helped North Ward School realize a dream two years in the making as it raised the funds to complete construction on two new playground structures. Calling it a “dream project,” Principal Cathy Shaheen acknowledged the larger effort that made the project a reality.
“We couldn’t have done this without the support of the community,” Shaheen said. “Together, we’ve built a better playground.”
Special support came from PlayPower Canada Inc., Queensview Retirement Community, R.T. Systems, and the Paris Lions and Lioness clubs, among other contributors.
Colder temperatures might be in the short-term forecast, but with the playground complete, an active spring full of climbing, balancing, and adventuring, is anticipated.
