The cemetery contains the graves of 12 commonwealth airmen and soldiers that died during training at a nearby airfield during World War II.
During the ceremony the student’s in Mr. Milmine’s grade 7 class read the names of the airmen aloud as students placed flags and carnations at each head stone.
Doug Ouellette, principal of the school said, "Having a chance to visit the cemetery adds a unique element to our Remembrance Day service giving students a direct connection with local history and the sacrifice made by so many."
