Trustees re-elected City of Brantford Trustee, David Dean, as Chair of the Grand Erie District School Board at the Nomination Meeting held December 5, 2016.
“As Chair for the second term, I hope to continue to lead the Board and to help facilitate the decision-making process with my colleagues to ensure our direction supports student learning,” said David Dean, Chair of the Board.
David Dean was first elected to the Board in 2010 and held the position of Vice-Chair in 2012, 2013, and 2015. He first became Chair in 2016 and will resume the role for the 2017 term.
City of Brantford Trustee, Greg Anderson, was also elected as Vice-Chair for the Grand Erie District School Board. Greg was first elected to the Board in 2014. Prior to his involvement on the Board, Greg dedicated his career to working in education. He worked in Grand Erie as a Superintendent before he retired in 2013.
“As Trustees, we are the link between our communities and the education system,” said Greg Anderson, Vice-Chair of the Board. “With the issues facing public education today, it’s important that we continue to work collaboratively with all our communities to meet the needs of our students.”
The Board’s Inaugural Meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 12, 2016 at 7:15 p.m.
