On January 14, from 6 until 8 p.m., many staff members from WDHS played host to parents/guardians and their grade 8 students who will hopefully become potential members of the “Wolf Pack” (The school mascot is the Wolf).
Mrs. Swierniak, the Student Success teacher at the school, organized this amazing event and had teachers creating fire bubbles and bands playing to entertain perspective students.
The goal of the night was to introduce students and their parents/guardians to the types of services and opportunities that WDHS has to offer. A number of current students were on hand to help guide people around and share their own experiences with these future Wolves.
"It was the best one yet! Lots of really excited Wolves joining our school community next year! Yay us!” said Annamaria Feltracco, head of the WDHS Parents Council and mother of a current grade 9 student.
The Staff at WDHS look forward to what the future has to offer. With hopes of adding an outdoor classroom to the school, creating a thriving agricultural program, revitalizing the drama program, and continuing to build upon the success that already exists at the school there is a lot going on in such a historical building.
With the 125th Anniversary coming for the school in 2017, it’s great to know that the Wolf Pack continues to grow and be a symbol of pride within the community.
