This Caledonia grade school raised over $3,700 to be donated towards the relief efforts in Fort McMurray Alberta, after the recent devastating fires. River Heights Elementary partnered with the Winegard Ford dealership as part of their ‘Drive 4 UR Community’ fund raising program.
The program teams up with schools and local community causes to support fund raising efforts towards charities of their choice. An event was held where $20 from every test drive was added to the donation total, up to a maximum of $6,000.
“The Drive 4UR School program is a great chance to give back to our community and we’re excited to participate in this special day with Ford dealerships across the country,” Jerry Winegard, new vehicles sales manager, Winegard Ford. “We’re pleased to support River Heights Public School in their goal of upgrading the audiovisual equipment in their school’s gymnasium.”
The event managed to bring in 189 test drives, which raised $3,780 for River Heights’ AV equipment in the school’s gymnasium, as well as another $3,780 for the Red Cross relief efforts in Alberta. The event took place at River Heights in Caledonia between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2016.
