This past January, the Student Success Team at Paris District High School (PDHS) held a contest to help promote the student completion and submission of community service hours.
Aimed at senior students who have not yet fulfilled their graduation requirement of 40 hours of community service, the contest was a huge success! During the month of January, an amazing 750 hours were submitted by 40 students.
For each hour that was submitted, students earned a chance to win one of three great prize packs, with swag donated by many local businesses including Ferrero Rocher, Brant Sports, CAA Brantford, Darby Sportswear, Jade’s of Paris, and our very own PDHS Student Council. Special thanks also goes out to Constable Ken Johnston, who was instrumental in putting the prize packs together.
This month’s three randomly drawn winners were E.J. Holmes, Soofia Sam and Janessa Walters. Congratulations ladies!
The Student Success Team at PDHS was so impressed by the response of our students, and they look forward to the spring, when they plan to run the contest again. Way to go, Panthers!
