One of the School Improvement goals at Seneca Central is to create meaningful program and extracurricular opportunities that reflect the diversity, needs and interests of students.
After seeking input from Student Council and the student body, through discussions and a student survey, several areas of interest were determined. New this year are Minecraft, Dance and Knitting Club, ‘You’re the Chef’ and Mad Science programs and opportunities to showcase student talent through events such as the recent Talent Show for Grandparents’ Day and the School Play.
There have even been student-created clubs such as the Random Subject Club.
By listening to what students want, and working together to create opportunities, Seneca now has a 97% participation rate in school clubs and programs, up from 34% in the fall.
