Pumpkinfest - October 13-15, 2017

Every October the small community of Waterford hosts its annual Pumpkinfest and Waterford Public School students, along with the entire community, are very actively involved in this annual festival.

Each year, over three hundred pumpkins are donated to the school for creative carving. Every student from Kindergarten through to Grade 8 carves individual pumpkins. Our senior students assist our primary students with this activity.

On the morning of Thursday, October 12, students along with parents and staff walk to the County ball diamond to assist in placing their pumpkins on the huge lighted pumpkin pyramids. A large community parade takes place on Saturday, October 14 and the school is represented in the parade by many marching staff and students.

Every year this event provides an opportunity for Waterford Public School and students to get involved in many activities and events in the community. It is also a time for students to express themselves using their artistic talents and their creative writing skills.
