Rivalry game kicks-off high school football season in Norfolk

As far as high school football openers go, they don’t come much bigger than this.  

The AABHN Varsity (non-CWOSSA) loop kicks off on Friday, not only with one of the area’s longstanding rivalries but a clash of last year’s championship contenders.  

“It’s pretty exciting,” said Delhi District Secondary School head coach Jacob Schooley, whose team will face the Simcoe Composite School Sabres as they look to win back-to-back league titles. “With a new coaching staff and the players we have in the system, it’s definitely intimidating to have these big games early in the season. It doesn’t give us time to kind of figure things out as the season goes on, but I think we’re ready for it.”
