The health and well-being of Grand Erie students and staff is the Board’s highest priority.

In all public health matters, Grand Erie District School Board works closely with both the Brant County Health Unit and the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit along with provincial and federal health agencies to monitor and address concerns related to Coronavirus (COVID-19).

  • The Travel Advice section outlines the different levels of risk involved with international travel to a number of countries as well as any recommendations the PHAC is making (e.g., avoid cruise ship travel). This section also includes information for Canadians returning from travel

Help Prevent the Spread of Respiratory Illnesses

To reduce exposure to, and transmission of, a range of respiratory illnesses including Coronavirus (COVID-19), follow these health precautions to help you and your family stay healthy:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer when hand washing facilities are not available
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Avoid close contact with people who are ill
  • Stay home when you are ill with a fever and/or infectious respiratory symptoms
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then immediately throw the tissue in the garbage and wash your hands
  • If you don't have a tissue, sneeze or cough into your sleeve or arm
  • Clean and disinfect frequently-touched objects and surfaces
