About HSS
Hagersville Secondary, a school within the Grand Erie District School Board, is a full service secondary school located in the town of Hagersville, Ontario, Canada. In 2017, HSS held a reunion that marked the school’s 125th anniversary. For its first 75 years, the school was located across town from its current location. Completion of a new school in 1967/68 established HSS at its present site on Parkview Road where it has been serving the community for 50 years. A full compliment of programs is offered at HSS to meet the pathways of all students, whether that pathway is to an apprenticeship/trade, to college, to the workforce or to university. HSS not only provides students with a full array of compulsory course offerings, but also great choice in elective course such as in the arts, technology, physical education, business, and co-operative education. In addition, HSS provides its students with opportunities to engage in specialty programs, such as: Specialist High Skills Major Programs in Automotive Service Technology, and in Hospitality and Tourism with a focus on Culinary Arts; Advance Placement Programs through academic clubs for English Literature, French, Biology, and Physics; Dual Credit Fanshawe College Foods Program; and an Environmental Science (Greenhouse) course.
Aside from the wide range of programming offered to HSS students, we also recognize the importance of providing students with great extra-curricular opportunities as well. HSS provides a full list of sports and clubs for students to be part of. We encourage students to get involved, and make the most of their high school experience! We also recognize the importance of involving students in their community. HSS annually hosts several large community events at its campus providing students with opportunities to work closely with our community in various fundraising and charitable events.
Lastly, through the hard work of its students and staff, HSS is now an ECO Friendly School, certified under the Ontario ECO Schools Program.

Here at Hagersville Secondary School we stress the importance and value of completing one’s secondary school education. The school and its staff are committed to the success of each and every student, to ensure a successful outcome for each student’s secondary school experience. In a safe learning environment, HSS staff assist our students in reaching their full potential within a culture of high expectations. HSS students are encouraged to engage fully in both their academics and extra-curricular activities to optimize their entire high school experience. Go ‘Canes!!
