With Guest Speaker Dr. Cathy Marks Krpan, Expert Teaching and Learning Math Strategist
Families want children to become strong mathematical thinkers. This can be a challenging feat, as mathematics is often taught differently from how they learned it in school. Families want to support mathematical learning at home but are not always sure where to begin. In addition, doing mathematics at home can sometimes be confusing and stressful for everyone involved. During this engaging session, I will share examples of how mathematics is taught in Ontario schools and provide practical ways families can joyfully support rich mathematical thinking at home for K–5 learners.
