An exciting partnership between the Gretzky Sports Centre and North Park Collegiate and Vocational School has come together, inviting Grade 9 students to make health and fitness a part of their secondary school experience. As part of a pilot project, the centre is offering free memberships to Grade 9 students, including access to the pool, ice rink, drop-in sports, fitness classes and a lot more.
"Providing learners with free passes to the sports centre not only encourages physical fitness but also fosters a sense of community and well-being," said JoAnna Roberto, Director of Education. "Physical activity boosts confidence, sharpens focus and fuels learning, so this partnership is a perfect fit for the North Park school community."
The Gretzky Centre is conveniently located next door to North Park, and passes are valid any time the centre is open, making it possible to fit fitness into every schedule — before or after school, in the evening or on the weekend. Joining the Gretzky Centre gives students a chance to meet new people, try different activities and build healthy habits for school and life.
To unlock this potential, interested Grade 9 students just need to bring their North Park student ID to the front desk at the Gretzky Centre.
