Welcome to Miss Van Kessel's Class Page

An area of focus in grade 6/7 at Waterford Public School is developing a positive climate to maximize student success. This includes the character education emphasis and the use of the Tribes ideals.

The Tribes program is based on the idea that children must learn to work together in long-term groups, or tribes, in order to learn how to respect and care for their fellow classmates.

Four agreements are honoured:
Mutual respect

Attentive listening

Appreciation of others and no-put downs

The right to pass and participate

contribute to the overall effort and success of your organization or group.

Perseverance-- Act with courage, tenacity, determination and with a commitment to hard work.; Never give up. Believe in yourself and try your best.
