St. George-German School is a busy school, set in the heart of the beautiful town of St. George. We have approximately 400 students from junior kindergarten to grade 8 attending our school. We offer a full day, Early Learning Kindergarten program for approximately 75 students. We also provide French instruction in grades 4-8. We have an active School Council that meets on the first Tuesday of each month from 6:30-7:30pm at the school. All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.
St. George-German prides itself on the athletic and community involvement of its students and teachers. Our students are very involved in community sports, intramural and competitive school teams, and a wide variety of other clubs and activities. St. George-German is also a SILVER certified EcoSchool, and we work hard to be environmentally responsible citizens in our school and in our community.
St. George-German also holds high academic standards for all students. We consistently provide quality education to all students, as evidenced by our exceptional EQAO scores and a wide variety of additional data collected by teachers and the school on a regular basis. This year, we are focusing our attention on improving student abilities in Mathematics, and there are some exciting things happening in our classes!
Welcome to new and returning students and families. Along with Vice Principal Tom Holmes, I am looking forward to meeting new members of our school and working with students, staff and parents in the community. The staff are also once again look forward to working with your child to have a very positive and successful school year. Students will also regularly receive take home information on Fridays. School agendas have been given to kindergarten to grade six students the first week of school at no charge to students. Parents of students in grades seven and eight will be able to communicate with teachers using the remind app.
We have also gotten lines painted to ease and improve safety of traffic flow at the driveway at the front of the school. Please follow directions for drop and go and bus lane areas. We will soon have safety patrollers on buses and assisting the drop and go area at the front of the school following their training by the start of October..
I would also like to invite everyone to visit our Facebook Page again this year for updates on school events and happenings. We would like to take the opportunity to connect with parents and our community to share with everyone all of the great things that students, staff and our community do this year. The goal is to send out about one post per week and share one or two highlights and also a link back to our website so that anyone wishing to take a further look at any information will be able to do so.
Have a great month!

St. George-German is a Nut-Free School. We appreciate the co-operation of all families in keeping peanut/nut products off of school property. This includes food in individual lunches and treats brought into the school for special occasions. As an extra measure to ensure the safety of all students, sharing food is not allowed.
Why Not Youth Centre St. George, a safe place for youth to meet, play video/games, or just hang out, is open at the South Dumfries Arena St. George every Friday night in the Community Room from 7-10. With the help of volunteers, we are able to provide a positive and safe atmosphere where all youth between the ages of 13-18 are welcome. Pizza and popcorn are free, as well as smiles! This centre belongs to the youth of St. George. Come on out and experience it with your friends.
