Our Simcoe Composite Figure Skating Team competed in the Western Ontario High School Figure Skating Competition on Wednesday March 7 and Thursday March 8 held in Aylmer. SCS competed along with 43 other high schools from Southwestern Ontario and representing us were Leicia Kelly, Paige Lombardo and Sara Schram. Mrs. VanDeWiele and Ms. Woolley went with the girls as staff advisors and they were coached by Mrs. Backus-Kelly, a Skate Canada coach and teacher. Each girl competed a dance and a solo (dance or interpretive) at their individual levels. Although we did not bring home the trophy, our skaters did a great job and showed excellent skills and good sportsmanship. Way to go SCS Skating ladies!!
