Congratulations go to 8 outstanding SCS students for their stellar performance at the 2018 Mohawk College Math Engineering competition! Students were required to work on math problems for 1 hour in teams of 2 by grade, and then do more math for another hour individually. Nineteen secondary schools from southern Ontario competed and the SCS team walked away with top honours! Our Gr. 9 team of Jaden Banfield and Destiny Dewhirst placed 2nd and each received a Sphero SPRK robot. Our Gr 10 team of Carter Kendrick and Karsen Clark, our Gr 11 team of Kallyna Morrice and Sandy Gibbons, and our Gr 12 team of Brady Donnell and Makenna Gauthier all placed 1st in the team category and walked away with Samsung Tablets!!! Special accolades go to Kallyna and Carter for placing 1st overall in their grade, each winning a Google Home Mini. Way to go team!!!! You’ve done SCS proud! You get a quality, high caliber education here at SCS and these students have proven it, much to the envy of all of the other students and teachers who attended the competition.
