Breakfast Nutrition Program

Studies show that students who do not eat a proper breakfast before school struggle with attention, focus, and even fine motor skills. McKinnon Park’s breakfast program is finishing our second successful year providing healthy foods for our students to eat in the morning, free of charge. Our nutrition program will provide healthy “grab-and-go” breakfasts to any students who need them before first period classes.

This food is provided to the students for free through the Children’s Nutrition Network and in conjunction with local sponsors.

The program runs from 8:15—8:35 a.m. (Tues., Wed., Thursday & Friday) in the main hall and will provide one milk product, one fruit and one grain product to anyone who needs/ wants them.

With the new school year fast approaching, we are again asking for any donations from the community (either monetary or whole wheat bread products /fruits/cheese strings). Although we receive a grant to run this program all year, we are still required to make up 15-20% of our program through donations.

Any assistance you could give us would be greatly appreciated! For more information, please contact
