Behind the Scenes of Success for Every Student

Support staff at Hagersville Elementary School

Ever wonder what happens at school during the summer months?

When staff and students returned to Hagersville Elementary School for the first day of school, a lot of work had gone on behind the scenes to ensure a successful start. Doug Campbell is the school’s custodian, and his diligence and hard work over the summer months meant the environment students returned to was a positive, welcoming space.

In the office, the school’s secretary, Ruth Lampkin, was busy processing registrations, forms and reports to make sure student’s transition into the new academic year was seamless.

“Both Doug and Ruth are a huge asset to our school, and our wider school community,” says Hagersville ES principal Janice Hughes. “Their contributions are what makes our school the wonderful place that it is.”

Grand Erie’s clerical and custodial staff are a vital part of Success for Every Student, and for many, going above and beyond is all in a day’s work. At Hagersville, these staff members assist with fundraisers, help organize events, and Doug is also a member of the parent council. Many don’t realize the countless hours that go into running a school effectively.

“All of the clerical and custodial staff in Grand Erie deserve a special thanks,” says Hughes. “We are so grateful to have them as a part of our team.”
