Alternative Education

G.E.L.A Day School (Rawdon Street Campus)

Goal: to increase opportunities for student success in a flexible, alternative learning environment
  • A variety of credit courses are offered
  • Most classes use the D2L platform to support student learning.
  • Co-operative Education (a flexible, continuous-intake program tailored to individual needs)
City Centre Campus
Adult Education classes offer a variety of secondary school credit courses in a teacher taught adult setting. Students over the age of 20 that require additional credits to complete their O.S.S.D., or upgrade courses for post-secondary education, may enrol in this program. Courses are offered in quad sessions that allow students to attend full- or part-time. Courses are offered at workplace, college and open levels in a wide variety of subject areas.
All students must have a credit assessment completed by our guidance counsellor prior to beginnng classes.

​Christina Cowell from the YMCA "Youth Gambling Awareness Program" will be at GELA Rawdon on Monday to visit with students and raise awareness to the issue of gambling and how individual's can better make informed decisions on the issue.
