Elementary students living in the City of Brantford and the County of Brant wishing to continue with French Immersion should apply to their secondary home school.
Students should register at their home school for French Immersion. If you have questions about the program or the registration process, please contact that school’s Department Head of Guidance:

Students who are currently in the French Immersion at Brantford Collegiate Institute & Vocational School will continue in that school for the French Immersion program.
Students who wish to attend an out-of-area school, can apply for out-of-area status. Note that students are not guaranteed placement at an out-of-area school, and in the event that placement is offered, transportation is not provided.
Requests to attend a school outside the school’s area can be made by contacting the school’s Guidance Head for the Out-of-Area procedures.
As noted above, out-of-area students currently attending Brantford Collegiate Institute & Vocational School are not required to re-apply for out-of-area status for the 2017-18 school year.
The home school is determined by that school’s boundary. For example, École Dufferin is a feeder school for Brantford Collegiate Institute & Vocational School and École Confédération is a feeder school for North Park Collegiate-Vocational School.
Please see the boundary map to find out what your home secondary school is:
For clarification on boundaries, please contact the Head of Guidance.
Transportation will continue to be provided for French Immersion students in Grades 11 and 12 at Brantford Collegiate Institute & Vocational School. Out-of-Area students in Grades 9 or 10 will need to provide their own transportation.
